Slept in the van on the drive, waking to a clear sunny morning.
Curtis made fabulous Eggs Benedict for breakfast, eaten on the first floor balcony overlooking the lake. Life doesn't get much better than this. Unloaded the equipment we had borrowed, cleaned out the van, and put dirty clothes in to wash. We had previously left a glass window panel open whilst on the move, causing the flyscreen to come adrift from the frame. Curtis pushed this back into the rubber sealing strip, using a handy special tool made for that very purpose. This man has everything!
Had a swim in the pool before lunch, and played around with inflatable boats, chairs and turtle after lunch. The water guns also came out, and we laughed till we cried.Eventually it was time to leave, and we took a nice scenic route to Hamilton via Barry, Orangeville, Guelph, and Waterdown. Vera's navigation was impeccable to the end, but finally we took a wrong turn to drive through the centre of Hamilton. Five narrow lanes of traffic on a pothole ridden road in a wide lumbering van was very nerve-wracking, but we made it safely to Mike's flat and parked up in the parking lot at the back.
